Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He blends soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique blend. She's performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at churches. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan It has since been remixed by a variety of producers and has become a staple of her live set. Her voice also appeared on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on his stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir in the production staged by Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was noticed by the nation during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
