Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman from America. She currently holds the position of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. A California born Buss has been raised by an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon, and later the owner of Lakers as well as other companies. The couple divorced in 1972, which caused her to feel that she was emotionally neglected. When she was 19 she started working within the family's company. The team was later renamed the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. She also served as director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice-president of the Lakers. Her father died in 2013, and the control for the Lakers was transferred to Buss and her five siblings by a trust of the family that gave each sibling an equal vote. The Lakers named her president.
